Faraday 2A (2nd floor Annex) was a busy Intercontinental switchroom located within the North Block.

English was the main operating language, but fifteen linguists were also employed by day and a similar number for nights.

The Closure The inevitable closure, which took place over several days as circuits were gradually withdrawn... Pictured: The exchange noticeboard the day after closure (end of May 1981). The Party & The Cake Everyone was invited; the party started at midday and went on to midnight for the benefit of day and night staff on various duties... Pictured: The cake baked by the Caroone House chef for the closure party held on 10th June 1981.
