After your security check, a staircase/ramp leads you into the main
hospitality area.

indeed, with the Internet and mobile communications, location is no longer
so important.

Touchdown, is probably a term borrowed from American Football, but in
this context it means a place to stop off and plug in your laptop computer,
on you way to or from a meeting.
