Teleprinters for Telegraph The Teleprinter No.3 was used with the manual switching system. For the Teleprinter Automatic Switching System (TASS), the Teleprinter No.11B became the standard conforming to CCIT* recommendations for speed (50 baud) and code (International Alphabet No.2). Teleprinters for Telex The Teleprinter No.7 was the standard type used with the Telex Service. In 1965, field trials took place of the Teleprinter No.15, which was finally introduced in 1968.
*CCIT was the International Telegraph Consultative Committee. In 1959 the CCIT and CCIF merged to form the CCITT which has set transmission standards for more than 40 years.
